On my way to a tour pickup in LV tomorrow, I made a couple of pitstops and spent the evening with some friends. I didn't get a picture with Laraine and Chuck, but I did snap a few pics of the locals. I had to stop and capture these pics of the pronghorn in the lush green grass that's a result of our record winter and wet spring. The lizards and quail were hanging around Silver Reef, a ghost town in Leeds (see my post on my AdventurePatches account).
In Utah, Memorial Day serves as more than a day to honor those who sacrificed their lives in service of the United States. I don't know when or how it started, but in Utah, Memorial Day is kind of like a Day of the Dead or All Souls Day when people visit and decorate the graves of all their ancestors. If you try to visit a cemetery in Utah during this holiday weekend, you'll meet heavy traffic, crowds, traffic direction aids, and lots of flowers and decorations. Families may gather near graves and tell stories of their loved ones. Over the past two weeks, I had the special opportunity to visit the graves of both sets of grandparents with family. Happy Memorial Day to you all!
"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid they have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices." President Harry Truman
A beautiful day! Congratulations, @alanrearl and Emily!
Made it to Texas to celebrate my brother's wedding! Tonight we partied, and tomorrow they get married. Only one person asked when I'm getting married and told me the right girl will come along soon, so there's that. Also, my brother and his bride are both big Star Wars fans, so my sister made this Millennium Falcon cake. The other cake had a Han and Leia silhouette on top that said "I love you." "I know."
A selection of selfies from my tour last week. Enjoy 😁

The new month means it's time to rotate my panoramas. I chose mostly iconic Utah imagery since next week I'll be on my first long parks tour for the season. Mixed in are a couple of shots from Antelope Island and the Galapagos. Check out my story for details for each image.
