Thanksgiving Day 7: A Good Blanket

My grandma has been making quilts for each of her grandchildren as high school graduation presents.

My mom has told me a few times that you can never have too many blankets. She’s right. A good blanket can make all the difference in the world. The right blanket can make a good night’s sleep great, a movie experience more enjoyable, and a picnic even more perfect.

I have a handful of blankets and almost every one of them has a memory associated with it. One of them is a quilt from my grandma, she gave it to me when I graduated from high school. Another is a quilt I made while in high school. I have others that are perfect blankets for picnicing that were once props in a movie.

I especially love this time of year when it is getting cooler in the evening and curling up on the sofa with a good movie, TV program or book while wrapped in a blanket. This weekend the high temperature is supposed to be around 60 degrees here in Scottsdale, so I expect to wrap up in a few more blanket hugs a lot more often soon.

So, that’s why today I am grateful for a good blanket. Do you have any special blanket memories?
